Fayetteville Panthers continued their solid play last weekend with a 141-132 victory over the visiting High Point Lycans. The win was the third in-a-row by Fayetteville (3-3) who are currently tied for second place in the Northwest Division.

In a tightly contested matchup, the Panthers balanced attack proved to be the difference. Seven players posted double-digits in points with Steven Williams and Bryan Calloway leading the way with 28 each. Malik London (19 points, 12 rebounds) and Christian Clegg (12 points, 13 rebounds) helped the home team dominate the boards, out rebounding the Lycans 66-38.

Xavier Bethea added 16 points while dishing out four assists and four rebounds for Fayetteville. Others hitting double digits were Shian Bradshaw with 11 and Sidney Knox 10.

Leading the High Point offense was Devin Hutchinson with a game-high 38 points. Hutchinson also pulled down nearly half of the teams rebounds with 16. Kenard Moore scored 32 while Chea Johnson added 22 in a losing effort.

Up next for the Panthers is a home date with the first place Hickory Hoyas (5-0) on Saturday. It's the first of two meetings between the teams this season which wraps up in late May.
