Carolina Thunder returned to their former home in Latta last weekend to host the South Carolina Upstate Redhawks. Led by a 44-point effort from James Richardson, the Thunder cruised to a 148-132 victory, their fourth win-in-a-row.
The opening quarter was tightly contensted with the home team takin a 35-33 advantage. That lead grew to 22 points by halftime though 85-63, a deficit the Redhawks couldn't overcome.
The Redhawks Scheraun King had an outstanding performance in the loss, scoring a game-high 46 points and nine rebs. Deriante Jenkins chipped in with 31 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
Richardson added four assists and five steals for Carolina while Patrell Rogers scored 25 with seven boards and nine assists. Demetrious Richardson added 21 points, seven rebounds while Jaylen Shaw (25 points, eight rebounds) and Jarvis Williams (16 points and 10 assists) were also big contributors for the Thunder.
Carolina Thunder are back at Latimer School again on Saturday 5:00 PM hosting Garden City Magic. The team will then travel to Augusta to play the Magic on Sunday at 4:30 PM.
