February 22nd Winston Salem - The visiting Park City Dreamers made their ECBL debut traveling to Winston Salem looking to showcase their potential with a 11 man roster filled with rookies taking on the defending Northeast Division Champions Wolves. The Dreamers ended the first quarter with a 27-24 lead, but the Wolves' aggressive 2-2-1 press turned the tide in the second quarter taking a 62-54 lead into the half. The Wolves knocked down 17 three pointers in the game and looked like they would cruise to the win going into the fourth, but just like all game the Dreamer battled back to make it a nail-biting finish that the Wolves would prevail in 113-111.
The Wolves were led by Calique Jones with 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5-7 from deep. Niquan Cousins contributed 21 points, including three monstrous dunks, and Jahlil Rawley added 20 points, sealing the game with 6 free throws late in the fourth quarter.
Chris Knight led 6 Dreamers in double figures with an impressive 26 points, shooting 11-19 from the field and 2-4 from beyond the arc. First year player Ethan Wilson (Shenandoah University) added 17 points and 5 assists, 2023 ECBL Mid-Atlantic Defensive Player of the Year Josh Peterson contributed 15 points 6 rebounds, 5 assist and 4 steals, while Leroy Butts (Fayetteville State) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Dechaun Reed (VA Union) and Jamal Washington (VA State) contributed with 12 points and 11 points respectively showcasing an impressive shotmaking ability knocking down three pointers way beyond the NBA 3 Point Line.
The Dreamers will look to bounce back in their next game on Saturday, March 1, as they welcome the Fayetteville Panthers to Manassas.
