June 14th Petersburg Virginia - The DC Heat stormed into the playoffs with intensity and focus, opening Saturday’s game against Kingdom Life Basketball Club with a dominant 36-point first quarter. The Heat looked poised to run away with it early, firing on all cylinders and overwhelming KLBC on both ends of the floor.
Khory Moore led the way with 23 points, slicing through defenders and knocking down shots at all three levels. Imrie Worley added 22 points, including three huge triples that helped spark the early surge. Tariq Felder was a two-way presence with 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Zachary Collins contributed 11 points and 6 assists, controlling the offense and distributing the ball with poise.
But Kingdom Life didn’t back down. After falling behind by double digits, they slowly fought their way back. Jai Rorie poured in a game-high 40 points, showcasing his scoring arsenal and putting the Heat defense on its heels. KLBC outscored DC Heat in the final three quarters and cut the deficit to one point in the closing minutes.
Despite the late-game pressure, the Heat made just enough plays to hang on and escape with a hard-fought 101–100 victory.
