Southern Conference Smashes Northern Conference to End 2025

July 12th Charlotte NC - The East Coast Basketball League ended its 2025 ECBL Season with its annual ECBL All-Star Saturday. The matchup started with the Southern Conference Coach Sebastian Page of the Carolina Thunder starting a pair of his players with Demetrius Knox and DJ Mason along with Chris Moore, Cornellius Reynolds, and Odell Turner of the PrimeTime Players. The North Coached by Will McLaughlin of The DC Heat started his starting backcourt of Imrie Worley and Khory Moore, with Josh Peterson and Leroy Butts of Park City, and David Pino from Kingdom Life Basketball Club. 

  The first quarter started with both teams missing a ton of shots but by the midway point of the quarter the South had built double figure lead. DJ Mason and Cornellius Reynolds who combined for 18 first quarter points led the way at the midway point, but the North closed out the quarter strong behind Petersburg Guard Jordan Crump who scored 12 points after subbing in to help cut the lead down to 30-33 at the end of 1. 

   The second quarter the teams stayed close with the North tying the score at 40-40 at the 10 minute mark after back to back threes by Imrie Worley and Khory Moore. This would be the last tie of the game as the south went on a 30-8 run over the next 7 minutes behind Cornellius Reynolds who had 10 of those 30 and Carolina Crusaders Guards D’Monte Evans and Cincere Scott combined for another 17 of the 30 as the South took a 83-57 lead into the half. 

  The second have both teams went back and forth but the North was never able to get closer than 23 points. Khory Moore scored 19 of his 24 in the second half and Jordan Crump and Jai Rorie combined for another 24 as they tried their best to try and get back in the game. The effort was there but the South never looked back as they pulled away for 165-128 win for the South. The Southern charge was led by ECBL Allstar MVP DJ Mason who scored 18 of his 32 in the second half and Cincere Scott and QC Vipers Guard Eli Smith combined for 14 each.
