ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Goldsboro Wings used a balanced offensive attack and strong fourth-quarter execution to defeat the Carolina Chosen Lions 121–114 on Saturday afternoon at Rocky Mount Prep School. Goldsboro set the tone early, jumping out to a 32–20 lead in the first quarter behind efficient shooting and strong ball movement. Carolina responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Wings 35–32 to cut the halftime deficit to nine points. The Wings maintained control through the third quarter and entered the final period with a 91–80 advantage. The Chosen Lions made one final push in the fourth, scoring 34 points in the period, but Goldsboro matched the effort with 30 of their own to secure the victory. Kristopher Clark led the Wings with 38 points, knocking down several key baskets throughout the game. Octavius Alston added 23 points, while Donte Johnson contributed 20 points and 14 rebounds, providing a strong presence on the boards. Darius Best chipped in 14 points, and Alex Brailsford finished with 13 points to round out a well-balanced scoring effort. Carolina Chosen Lions were led by Montrell Williams, who poured in 35 points in a strong offensive performance. Matthew McIntyre added 29 points, and Isaiah Alston contributed 20 points for the Lions. Darrus Freeman also reached double figures with 11 points. As a team, Goldsboro shot 45 percent from the field and knocked down 12 three-pointers, while Carolina shot 44.5 percent and controlled stretches of the game offensively but struggled to slow the Wings’ scoring depth. With the win, the Wings showed their ability to maintain composure down the stretch against a surging opponent and continue building momentum during the regular season.
