April 18th Waxhaw NC - The Charlotte Blue Jackets edged out Kingdom Life Basketball Club in a high-scoring thriller on Saturday evening, securing a 145–141 victory at Cuthbertson Middle School in one of the most exciting matchups of the weekend.
Charlotte came out firing early, putting up 42 points in the first quarter to take control of the tempo. They continued their offensive surge in the second, building an 81–63 halftime lead behind efficient scoring and strong ball movement. However, KLBC responded in the second half with a major push, outscoring the Blue Jackets 37–24 in the third quarter and continuing to apply pressure in the fourth. Despite the late surge, Charlotte held on down the stretch to secure the four-point win.
The Blue Jackets showcased a balanced and explosive offense, shooting 50.0% from the field as a team. Marquis Gaines led the way with 33 points, attacking consistently and finishing through contact. Eli Smith added 30 points and played a key role in maintaining offensive rhythm, while Warren Vinson contributed 29 points in an efficient performance. Rajuan Connor chipped in 17 points, giving Charlotte multiple scoring options throughout the game.
KLBC answered with a strong offensive performance of their own, led by David Pino and Duane Goodman, who each scored 29 points. Nas Tyson added 29 points as well, while Jai Rorie contributed 28, making it a well-balanced scoring effort for Kingdom Life. Despite shooting 42.4% from the field and converting 79.4% from the free throw line, KLBC’s slow start proved costly as they were forced to chase the game throughout.
Charlotte’s early offensive explosion ultimately created just enough separation to withstand KLBC’s second-half rally in a tightly contested finish.
With the win, the Charlotte Blue Jackets improve to 7–2 on the season, while Kingdom Life Basketball Club falls to 4–2.
