April 18th Wake Forest NC - The Carolina Crusaders delivered a dominant performance on Saturday evening, defeating the North Carolina Capitals 124–89 at Rolesville High School behind a complete team effort on both ends of the floor.
Carolina set the tone early, taking a 27–21 lead after the first quarter and steadily building on it throughout the game. The Crusaders extended their advantage in the second quarter and broke things open in the third, outscoring the Capitals 36–24 to put the game firmly out of reach heading into the final period.
The Crusaders’ offense was efficient and balanced, shooting 43.9% from the field while consistently finding quality looks. Landon Harrison led the way with 28 points, attacking the defense and finishing strong. Calvin Cooke III added 20 points, while Terrance Barnes contributed a strong all-around performance with 13 points and 16 rebounds, controlling the glass and creating second-chance opportunities. Multiple players contributed offensively, showcasing the Crusaders’ depth.
Defensively, Carolina held the Capitals to just 30.8% shooting from the field and limited their effectiveness from beyond the arc, making it difficult for North Carolina to generate any sustained momentum.
For the Capitals, Donovan Martin led the scoring with 19 points, while Justus Baldwin added 19 as well. Dyron Jones chipped in 14 points, but the Capitals struggled to find consistent offense against the Crusaders’ defensive pressure.
Carolina’s ability to control the tempo, dominate the boards, and maintain defensive intensity throughout the game proved to be the difference in the lopsided win.
With the victory, the Crusaders improve to 4–3 on the season, while the Capitals fall to 5–2.
