April 27th Charlotte NC - The East Coast Basketball League has announced that the Carolina Chosen Lions will cease operations effective immediately.Team owner and head coach Greg Crudup officially stepped down on Sunday, April 26th. Following discussions with team personnel and league officials, it was determined that the organization would not be able to financially sustain operations through the remainder of the season.

As a result, all remaining games on the Carolina Chosen Lions’ schedule will be removed. With only four weeks left in the regular season, the league has elected not to attempt rescheduling. Instead, final standings for playoff qualification will be determined by winning percentage, with the top 12 teams advancing to the ECBL playoffs.

To help maintain competitive balance across the league, one additional game has been added to the schedule: the Carolina Thunder will travel to face the NC Capitals on May 17th. This adjustment ensures that all teams will complete a minimum of 13 games and no more than 14 games during the regular season.

The league will continue to work closely with its member organizations to ensure a smooth transition through the remainder of the season.
