NC Coyotes Outlast Goldsboro Wings in Overtime Thriller, 128-117

May 3rd SPRING CREEK, NC — The NC Coyotes picked up one of their biggest wins of the season Sunday afternoon, pulling away in overtime to defeat the Goldsboro Wings 128-117 in a high-scoring ECBL battle at Spring Creek High School.

The game was tightly contested from start to finish during regulation, with neither team able to create much separation. The Coyotes held slim leads after both the first and second quarters before Goldsboro answered in the third to keep the pressure on. Late baskets from both sides forced overtime tied at 108-108, but NC completely took over in the extra session by outscoring the Wings 20-9 to seal the victory.

Will Griffin delivered a monster performance for the Coyotes, finishing with 37 points while shooting an efficient 12-of-19 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers. Shamon Jackson added 27 points and six rebounds, while Mykael Faulcon poured in 24 points with six made three-pointers. Robert Espinosa also scored 24 points as the Coyotes finished with four players scoring 24 or more points.

NC shot over 51 percent from the field and connected on 14 three-pointers while taking care of the basketball in key moments during overtime.

Goldsboro was led by a dominant effort from Kaden Lebray, who exploded for a game-high 50 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 17-of-25 from the floor. Kristopher Clark added 40 points and six assists, giving the Wings a combined 90 points from their top two scorers. Donte Johnson contributed 26 points and 15 rebounds, while Darrius Best chipped in 23 points.

Despite the offensive explosion from the Wings, the Coyotes’ depth and overtime execution proved to be the difference as NC closed the game on a decisive run to earn the hard-fought win.

The victory gives the Coyotes momentum heading into the final stretch of the ECBL regular season, while Goldsboro continues to battle for playoff positioning with several critical games remaining.
