ECBL Announces Former League Star as Newest Member of League Management Group

The East Coast Basketball League is proud to announce that former ECBL star Mike Couvson is returning to the league as its newest Conference Representative and member of the League Management Group.


Couvson, who retired as an active player following the 2026 season, previously served as the ECBL Players’ Representative. He brings extensive experience as a player, team owner, and league leader.

During his 11-season playing career, Couvson earned eight ECBL All-Star selections and an All-Star Game MVP award. He finished with career averages of 22 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, while scoring more than 2,000 career points.

His ECBL résumé also includes:

• 11 seasons as a player
• Eight-time ECBL All-Star
• ECBL All-Star Game MVP
• Six years as a team owner
• Five years with the Garden City Magic
• One year with the Augusta Eagles
• One year as ECBL Players’ Representative

In his new role, Mike will serve as a Conference Representative while working alongside the League Management Group to advance the ECBL’s vision and help ensure a strong and positive future for the league.

Mike’s knowledge of the ECBL and his experience from multiple perspectives will make him a valuable addition to the league’s leadership team.
